In one YouTube video about the mind-altering substance salvia, which is a legal hallucinogen, titled "Horrible Salvia Trip" a young man, supposedly under the influence of salvia, hallucinates that his couch is eating him while his friends sat nearby and videotaped him.
Reid Gustin had his $600 bicycle stolen on Sept. 15 from the Third Avenue Parking Garage. Gustin, a freshman sport, arts and entertainment management major, said a theft report was filed with the City of Pittsburgh Police; however, there is no security camera in the garage, no evidence and he does not expect the culprit to be found.

The Office of Campus Life held a Relay for Life fund-raiser on Oct. 1, where community facilitators volunteered to have pies thrown at them for a price. Single pies were on sale for $2 each or three for $5. The event raised an estimated $100, bringing the total fund-raising total amount to $800.
Although construction of Point Park University's newest housing, the Boulevard Apartments, is not yet complete, the units are open for the first time this fall and they are drawing rave reviews from students. The apartments, located at 312 and 322 Blvd.
On Tuesday, Oct. 7, a construction worker fell 20 stories at the site of Carlyle Condominiums, which is undergoing conversion at Wood Street and Fourth Avenue. Ed Meena, along with Adam Sapienza, are in the process of creating a history club, which will be open to all students, not just history majors and minors. With the growing numbers of history majors and minors, Meena, a history professor at Point Park University and Sapienza, a senior drama major with a history minor, wanted to find a way to unite the history buffs outside the classroom.
Frontier Hall, at 100 Wood Street, is now home to several offices at Point Park University. University Advancement, Public Safety, Procurement and Business Services (purchasing,) and the administrative Business Office moved into the building. Located between Conestoga and Pioneer Halls, the building was purchased in 2007.
