Reporters deserve free use of public property

WQED needed some exterior shots of a nuclear power plant in Beaver County for a story they were working on, so they set up on a bridge across the street from the plant and shot the cooling towers from public property. A few years ago, reporters from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and 60 Minutes needed similar shots of a chemical plant on Neville Island, so they trespassed onto the plant property to do their story.

Tobacco companies need stronger regulations

For the past years, one of the biggest issues facing advertising agencies is the ongoing efforts of legislators to implement stricter rules on the tobacco industries. Studies show that youth focused advertisements like the famous Joe Camel ads are one of the leading reasons they are lured into the smoking world.
