Coach Loren Torres has high expectations that the structure and discipline of Point Park University's men's baseball team will improve and return to its former winning ways.  "We are not going to concentrate on wins and losses," Torres said. "I just want to make sure that at the end of the day they feel good about how they play and that we maximize their ability and let the results take care of themselves.

"The team was very welcoming when I came," Cashatt, an economics and finance major, said.

Men's basketball sinks to Cedarville

The Point Park University men's basketball team was able to notch a win against division leader Notre Dame College earlier this season, but on Thursday they fell to the Falcons 91-82. However, hoping to improve their performance against Cedarville University on Saturday, and stay in the race for the playoffs, the Pioneers fell again, 84-67, to a barrage of three-pointers.

Women's team still in playoff hunt

The Point Park University women's basketball team, badly in need of a victory, tried to get rebounds and play defense for the whole game against Cedarville University, but in the last minute they fell short by four points, sending them to a heartbreaking defeat.

Pucks, Passes and Pierogies

Super Bowl week is upon us, and while there is no Pittsburgh representative making the trip to Southern Florida to compete this year, I'm still going to talk about it because it is the biggest thing going on in the sports world right now. Of course, Super Bowl XLIV will feature the New Orleans Saints, making their first trip to the Super Bowl and the Indianapolis Colts, who nearly went undefeated and are led by the most celebrated athlete in professional sports.
