Renovation on Point State Park

Renovation on Point State Park

The Point State Park fountain is tested in the early afternoon on April 17. Its official opening will be June 7, which coincides with the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, according to pointstatepark.com. The fountain has been under rennovation since 2009.

Pioneers prepare for playoffs

Point Park created quite a buzz this past week around the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as its regular season came to a close.  Out of 189 NAIA teams, the Pioneers, (35-13 14-6 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athlectic Conference) (KIAC) finished fourth in batting with a .343 team average and 23rd in pitching with a 3.32 team ERA.     It has been three weeks since two high school football players were convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl in Steubenville. During those three weeks, many across the nation expressed shock that such a cruel act could happen in America. After all, our nation is civilized, unlike those repressed, “backward” nations in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. At least that is one argument.
